Meet The Team

Steve, Tyler, and Gus make up the core of SOS Outdoor’s operations and labor force. Steve founded the company in 2004 with a vision of “doing better business” and building something he could one day pass on to his family. Since then, he has created jobs, served hundreds of happy customers, and remained committed to his pursuit of better business.

Gus, his son, grew up in the company. When customers ask about his background, his common reply is, “I’ve been mowing yards since I was four—there’s nothing I haven’t done or seen when it comes to landscaping.” Despite having over 20 years of hands-on experience, his pursuit of knowledge in the field continues. Certified in turfgrass maintenance and pest management by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture, Gus constantly researches and applies new landscaping methods to provide customers with the best possible value.

Tyler joined the team in 2024 after graduating from NC State with a degree in mechanical engineering. With Steve as his father-in-law, he quickly took the business to heart and embraced the company’s philosophy of “better business.” His drive and ambition made him a perfect fit for SOS Outdoor.

With Steve focusing on mentoring and sales, Gus refining quality and efficiency in the field, and Tyler introducing new systems and a fresh perspective, the team has formed a perfect combination. Since Tyler’s onboarding, SOS Outdoor has grown by 113%.
